Elements of Art in Photography

Image
Elements of Art in Photography   Color I took this picture for color because the ocean and sunset was really nice, color's were everywhere.  Line I took this image at the dock.  Shape I took this picture of my front door, which it composed of squares.  Space I took this picture on one of Rota's historical places.  Form I took this picture of my Christmas tree because unfortunately, we haven't taken it down yet. Texture  I took this picture of flowers that I gave to my boyfriend.  Tone I took this picture of the plants at Micro Beach.

Rule of Thirds

Image
Rule of Thirds  I took this picture by placing the cup at an angle where the bottom right cross section of the grid sits at.  I took this picture by focusing Mickey Mouse on the right side of the grid. I also tried to position his body parts on other parts of the grid.  I took a close up photo of my dog Jet. I did it by focusing on his face and placing his left eye on the left side cross section of the grid.  Breaking the Rule of Thirds This picture does not follow the Rule of Thirds because I just placed the iced tea mix in the center of the grid without placing it right.

Meet My Friend

Image
Greetings everyone! I took pictures of my dog Jet and my sister in law's dog Mochi.  Baby Jet This was the first day I got to see Jet in person. He loves to cuddle and it completes my heart.  Mochi  This was the first day Mochi came to visit me and my younger siblings. He was so shy, but really loved the comfort of being around people.  Baby Jet & Mochi In this picture Mochi was pissed, but afterwards they became friends and now play with each other.

My Heroes/Role Models

Image
My Heroes/Role Models Ama & Ampa This lovely couple are my grandparents. They are what I consider my heroes and role models, because of how much they have cared for me. When I was young they have stuck by me and given me the love that brought me joy. They are that spark that keeps me lit during tough times.  Jolene Marie My mother is one to truly count on. She is one to truly understand what it's like to be a teenager. She cares and gives endless amounts of love. I wouldn't have gotten the strength and courage to stand up for myself if she was never by my side.  Keona & Ricardo These two individuals who I am very proud to call my older siblings, are indeed one of my heroes and role models. They are a whole vibe and nothing can ever destroy the bound that we share as siblings. I get emotional when we have little talks because I barley see them around anymore. Thats due to the fact that they have busy lives. I get inspired by the achievements they both have gotten....

Iconic Photographer Photo Project

Image
Henri Cartier-Bresson   Greetings everyone! I chose Henri Cartier-Bresson. His images connected with me because of how much he just took pictures of random things. He had passion for other things, such as drawing and painting. Which I really do admire. One things I like about his style is that he seems to just let loose and go with the flow, that's something that relates to me in a way. Aside from his photo's not having a specific theme of art, it's overall beauty shows. I think his images evoke emotion in a way. I say this because through looking at every detail, he seems to capture the ones that bring emotion from within.  Examples of Cartier-Bresson's work  My photos inspired by his style Image 1.  I took this photo on my trip to Rota. It features the very two things I enjoy looking at, my soulmate and the beautiful view that mother nature offers this wonderful island.    Image 2. I took this image outside of my sister's house. I enjoy exciting things, e...

Pacific War

Image
Pacific War  Greetings everyone! Here are a few historical pictures that I took using my iPhone a few days ago.  Japanese Pillbox - This Japanese pillbox is located at Micro Beach here in the CNMI. It's one of the surviving fortifications from the World War II era. It was made out of concrete, coral boulders, and rocks as part of the walls.  Village Chiefs' -  Located at Tanapag village, is the grave site or memorial for the village chiefs that came together to build the village now known as Tanapag.   Matsue Statue - The statue is of Haruji Matsue. Regarding sugarcane agriculture, he was convinced that Saipan had potential for the makings of sugarcane.  Saipan Jinja - The jinga was made in 1931, the Japanese built it to show the increase of the Japanese population here on island.  German Steps - 1904 is when a German District Administrator, George Fritz built these concrete stairways that led to the back of his house to the summit of the hill. I...

My Morning Views

Image
My Morning Views Greetings everyone! Here are a few photos of what my mornings seem to be.  Every morning I get up and go straight outside to feel the heat or breeze that comes by, it's a daily thing for me to do even before school.  Fishing is something I do mostly every morning. It's a great way to get my day going, it's fun, and brings me excitement.  My grandma is the first thing I think about in the morning, she's my best friend and my mother all in one.

Photo Blog-Maria Castro

Image
Hi everyone!  My name is Maria Castro . I am a junior attending Kagman High School. My hobbies include outrigger and diving. As you could tell, I'm a sucker for anything that deals with me in the water or near the water itself. It may not seem like it, but I enjoy watching baseball or softball games. I'm a picky eater but sushi is one of my favorite things to eat. As a person, I'd describe myself as generous, determined, and passionate. Regarding my future plans, I plan on going to college at NMC for two years and then going to a university in Hawaii. In which I could pursue my plans as a Marine Biologist.  However for now, my main focus is to enjoy my time as a high school student.  I decided to take this course because of how much I want to learn more about photography. I love taking pictures and I hope to become way more educated about it.
